DESCRIPTION
We pushed Big Buck Bunny through a chain that ends at 240p, the resolution most 8 and 16-bit consoles output, then filmed it off a consumer set.
It looks like a lost cartoon from a cartridge that never existed.
What to watch for
- Aliasing on the bunny’s ears.
- Colour depth once the chain drops to 15-bit.
- How much the scanlines hide.

Honestly the composite version has a charm the RGB one lacks. Fight me.
Manual focus, shutter at 1/30 so it covers a full field.
Same here. Seems like the whole production run had it.
Rosin flux from a jar, cleaned with isopropyl straight after.
Parts list is going into the next post, promise.
Same board revision as mine, and the same two caps had leaked. Must be a batch thing.
This takes me straight back to Saturday mornings at my cousin’s house.
That colour bar test pattern is a nice touch. Makes the comparison easy to read.
The sound on this one still gives me goosebumps.
